Simply leaving this review as information for anyone looking at using this company for their property management. I have read multiple reviews of disgruntled homeowners and understand and have experienced similar things as they have. I will be the first to admit I am not perfect at following all HOA rules and guidances when it comes to parking on the street for an hour or less at a time to clean, move vehicles, or work on a home project to keep our townhouse taken care of. HOWEVER, when I receive these fines I have politely asked for picture proof due to the volume of people who also park on the street. We have received numerous fines for others and the management company provided us with pictures which was great! We tried reaching out via email and phone number and weren’t responded to until going into the office. We have also requested that our landscaping be freshened up as we do not have hardly any rock left. This has been requested multiple times over the last 3 years. Unfortunately from what I’m seeing on the reviews the owner of this company will quickly come to her own defense and criticize her paying customers rather than taking accountability or acknowledging that a certain situation could have been better and apologizing for it. In conclusion if you are to go with this management company you will be faced with communication challenges as well as a lack of respect for how you feel the company is doing and the owner will have no problem putting her customers private information on a public review to slander them and make them feel as they are the only problem in the relationship. A good company will acknowledge it’s paying customers concerns and work to be better in the areas they do see a problem.

AMS and Juliat have been amazing. This company genuinely cares about the properties and people they work with! Juliat has been extremely helpful this winter when a sprinkler water pipe burst in my condo. She goes the extra mile to make sure that the issue is resolved and helped me understand the process of getting things back in order and made sure that not only the property was taken care of but that I was as well. She even takes proactive steps to help issues from arising in the future! I know that my HOA is in good hands with AMS & Juliat managing it.

Jane was so so helpful and nice when I called!! She went out of her way to help me. When I went to their office, she was so friendly and helpful! She was very responsive when needed and professional. Highly great association!

If NEGATIVE 100 stars was an option, that would better describe this “business”. Jane is one of the most unprofessional people I have encountered. Her behavior includes hanging up on both home owners and realtors and speaking incredibly rudely in written and verbal communication. You can see by her defensive remarks to each review how working with her is a nightmare. A simple call requesting how to make a payment was met with rudeness and still no answer. Luckily, I will take the advise of others and have legal action and written notices moving forward. She does not provide homeowners information when requested nor follows legal rules for written and proof of written notice before filing lien. The CCR is not followed and no annual meetings are held nor are homeowners notified of things. This is not a HOA but a dictatorship. I could go on and on with the made up pricing to complete affidavits of no debts owed (more than $400!) when the website clearly quotes a different price. Also, public record show almost none (maaaaaaybe 2-3) of the homeowners signed notarized forms indicating they received covenants over the last 4 years in a particular subdivision of over 30 lots. This is all available at Polk county recorders office. So when she claims homeowners should have received it-she should be well aware they did not as she charges the realtor/buyer to complete the affidavit paperwork! They are required by law to file things and it is easy to see it isn’t happening.

Jane Shipman is a class act and a much needed pioneer in the area of Association Management. I’m absolutely astounded regarding some of the false reviews regarding Jane. She has without a doubt been a very dedicated professional who continues to go above and beyond to assist clients. She is fiercely protective of her clients rights, she proceeds with fairness and integrity in any situation and has had to deal with challenging processes and more recently has dealt with some serious problems and individuals that most people would have truly avoided yet she did not back away. I have never met anyone who would go above and beyond to provide assistance in the manner she did for an entire Condo community. In spite of interacting specifically with one extremely unpleasant and irrational illogical client who went out of his way to not only make life miserable and unsafe for the entire community, but made her life difficult as well, she stayed the course and advocated for others. Although this individual has provided false reviews and unpleasant unwarranted comments, she continues to help and advocate relentlessly and tirelessly for her clients and it should be noted she continues to support past and present clients. I never met her in person only through calls and e-mail yet I have felt her presence on all levels in the process as it pertains to the HOA. She gets things done, she demonstrates equity in her services. She has courageously assisted our community with someone who literally demonstrated harassing behaviors towards others and lacked the emotional intelligence of knowing how to treat others with dignity and respect. Jane has been able to take care of business while taking care of hearts. She has many many years of experience in this business and understands how to navigate the complex and diverse needs of a housing community. I’m forever grateful for her expertise as well as her knowledge of resources and the community and legal sense she brings to the process. Thank You Jane. I’m forever grateful and knowing you has restored my faith in humanity.

Since three years ago when our Association Board hired Association Management Services, our complex looks 100% better than before and we finally have collected back dues and fines and have money in our account. It has been a very hard three years to make up for multiple years of not spending money to take care of our property and to make the changes to improve our complex. If you’re reading this review then you’ve realized that Jane is completely unprofessional and you’re looking for options on what to do. Remember to record everything in writing and when speaking to her. Jane will make stuff up. Jane will lie. Look at the her responses to the negative reviews here. Talk to a legal professional or do your own research to protect yourself. For example, in Iowa it is legal to record people in public. Simply ignore her accusations and only respond when your HOA actually sends you a violation in writing.
