Merging your firm after 22 years is a big thing, well at least to me it was. Looking back to September 2022 I was a little let down when a large accounting firm brokerage said my deal was too small ($500,000 annual) and it was too complicated due to wanting to carve out a small ownership opportunity for a super staff member.

Well then, I met Ryan Gipple. First and fore most he understands how CPA firms work. Talking to him about staffing, billing rates and collections is like talking to a seasoned partner level CPA. I met Ryan in mid-September and we closed on December 31. By mid-October we had met with 5 possible groups and 2 very well-suited firms. The process of scheduling and keeping the discussions on track was seamless. Best of all he tells you up front that he works for me, not anyone else. Due to the quality of the people we met there were no serious points of disagreement but when they appeared Ryan’s experience showed as he would then enter the discussion with the phase “This is how I have seen other firms handle the matter”.
