The office space is great. The people and the company culture were awful. There’s a lot to be said for trade offs we make for access to privilege; it’s just that one needs to be aware when they’re not being invited in as equals but as servants to the people they actually value.

There is and was a very clear delineation between whose ego needs catering to and whose brain drain they want to exploit so the privileged don’t have to waste their time using their brains for academically rigorous work. The day a world class engineer comes in and has to teach a guy with 2 years work experience that a software migration isn’t just turning a system off so the new one can be turned on while that guy gets paid thrice as much is the day one knows the company is smoke and mirrors.

There is a dramatic push for appearance over substance at this firm, and they do not value knowledge—they value sales and the appearance of knowledge. It’s an amazing hotbed for insecure intellectuals with shame-based personalities who are looking for a way to punish themselves and project their insecurities onto anyone they find to be a competitive threat.

Any architecture team that is 20+ men and two minority women is not making an honest effort to promote women in the core functions of technology as equals. I don’t think they’re even aware that when they hire people from patriarchal countries that those men bring their culture with them as well as their dirty politics. I would tell women in tech to dodge it, but I gather they already know.

The icing on the cake is that it is a hotbed for dark tetrad people.

Absolutely beautiful office located high up within the 10 Hudson yards building. Incredible views are simply a piece of the stunning layout and design of the space here. Do know that there is a lot of construction around the area, so although your Uber/Lyft can pick you up directly in front, they may ask you to meet them nearby versus directly in front. Also be aware that as a visitor you'll need to pass your purse/luggage through security and be screened.
