I have an appointment this week so I’ll be updating this.

I’m not expecting any narcotics because I already have another pain management doctor at UAB that handles my pain medications and I understand for whatever reason that not a single pain management clinic/physician in the Shoals is able\won’t offer that type of help.

I’m going for severe and chronic back problems and I don’t care what or how someone can help me, as long as they can help me find relief and get some sleep.

My review will be updated based on:

1. Diagnosis

2. Plan of action

3. Remedy or relief (most important)

4. Does he care/believe me? (I shouldn’t have to convince you I’m hurting if I’m not looking for pain meds)

5. Customer Service from other staff members (least important. my review will be 90% based on the doctor himself and not the staff. This review isn’t for the clinic, it’s for the doctor.)

ABSOLUTELY the WORST office staff at a medical office I've ever dealt with. Texts and all other communication states an appointment time. Then, the office calls 20 minutes before the appointment time and rudely wants to know why my husband was not there. Um, because his appointment isn't for another 20 minutes. The receptionist then rudely says to him, after 5 minutes on hold, that he MIGHT be seen when he gets there.

There were ZERO patients in the waiting room. The two women at the reception both RUDELY stated it is a requirement to arrive early. One stated 30 minutes and the other 45 minutes. Which is it They even tried to claim that they told my husband on the phone that morning that he needed to be there 45 minutes early. He was never told, in writing or verbally, to be at the office early. Even while completing the online portion before the appointment, there was no mention of arriving early.

The office manager stated SHE made a form that is sent with EVERY new patient paperwork that CLEARLY states the arrival must be 45 minutes BEFORE the appointment time. When she was given my husband's completed paperwork, she was dumbfounded to see that there there wasn't any new form that she created. She had even stated that they highlight that part to ensure nobody misses that requirement. Hmmmmm... when there's no form, highlighted or not, how in the world does anyone know when they are actually supposed to arrive

When my husband showed her the texts he had received, with no mention of arriving early, the only response was that they had no control over the texts. What? Why send them out if they aren't correct

If they can't get the front part of their office functioning properly, what will the care be like? We didn't stay to find out.

When voicing complaints about the two women at the reception desk to the office manager, she acknowledged they are both problematic and she is working on it. All I can say is good luck on fixing the issues with those two.

Do yourself a favor and find another doctor and pray his/her staff is more competent than this office staff. Dr. Patrick Boyett in Athens, AL is AMAZING.

Extremely nice and understanding, however, unless you're comfortable with spinal/joint injections, or megadoses of gabapentin, don't bother. About the same as Dr Telang, unless you're willing to submit to injections, not very helpful or patient oriented. Very disappointed, planning on having to go to Huntsville for acceptable pain management.

Dr Wargo is a extremely nice doctor but if you are needing pain medication you do not want to go to him, he won't give out opioid pain meds.
