I had a wonderful experience with Harman Property Management Group. I had wonderful roommates and a nice apartment with my own room, and Management always took care of any maintenance issues promptly that occasionally did arise with the building. I think the only thing critical I would have to mention is that I am not a fan of the regular cleaning checks, but I would still definitely come back and rent from them again!

Like most of the honest reviews I agree communication is difficult. Management does not take phone calls, emailing is slow in response. Pay close attention to your billing as our utility bills were changed several months after they were paid in full. Management stated the city changed the utility bills, but after speaking with the city they confirmed they did not change billing and charged retroactively. We have requested our deposit deposition several times and even though the company requests a self addressed stamped envelope or they won’t return it to you, we have yet to receive anything. At time of review it has been well over the 30 days they have to send it. There are several other problems we have had with this company and I would not recommend anyone renting from them if you can avoid it.

If you rent from them take pictures of *everything*, read everything carefully, get every communication with them in writing. They are not going to be friendly; it's you vs. them.

For example, one afternoon I open my front door to discover an *eviction notice* taped there. The reason for the eviction? There was a pallet leaned up against my townhouse. Luckily I had taken pictures before I moved in and the pallet was in the pictures. I think the issue could have easily been resolved by knocking on my door and having a simple conversation, but they don't believe in simple conversation. They could have called me or texted me about it. Nope. The communication they led with was "we're kicking you out in 3 days and charging you for an early contract termination".

Everything is a this-is-in-your-contract we-have-lawyers heavy-handed approach.

I had a fridge that was leaking. They eventually sent someone out who said they would fix it the next week when they could get the part. That person never came back. I literally kept a towel in front of my refrigerator. I followed up, and was told they would fix it, but nothing actually happened. Eventually I emailed them that I was going to tell the person they were managing the property for; that was what it took to address the problem. I first told them at the end of October; it was eventually fixed in January.

I don't think the employees talk to each other. Don't expect a phone conversation to their office to get passed on. Don't expect a request (e.g. I still need my smoke alarm replaced) to the person inspecting your townhouse to get passed along. Don't expect a conversation with a service person to get passed on.

Do everything through email. Had a conversation with a person on the phone? Send a follow-up email. Have a conversation with one of their repair people? Send a follow-up email.

Have a paper trail. I regret that I didn't.

Stephanie has done an awesome job as manager! She has worked well with her maintenance staff, and it seems like they all work together very well! I have noticed a difference in the community attitude towards the property has improved very much! People are friendly now and take better care and appreciate their surroundings! I moved into one of their apartments a few years ago, and my experience was far from ideal. Upon arrival, there was no hot water, and the carpets had a strong odor of animal urine, despite the fact that they supposedly don’t allow pets. We had to stay in a hotel for a few days while they addressed these issues. This was in the summer of 2020. To make matters worse, we were charged for the carpet cleaning, which I don’t think was fair, but we moved on.

We also discovered that the cabinets, showers, and other areas had not been properly cleaned. After everything was finally fixed, things were somewhat manageable, but still far from perfect.

Around seven months into our lease, our toilet stopped working as the water tank wasn’t filling. It took them 2-3 months to fix what should’ve been a simple repair because the maintenance worker wouldn’t return for weeks at a time. Communication was another major issue—we typically had to wait at least a week for responses to our requests, though occasionally they would get back to us sooner.

After about a year and a half, we were relieved to move out. The only redeeming aspect of our experience was getting our deposit back.

Rented from them before, they do just fine.

Edit: When I moved in to the condo, the move out paperwork and SASE from the previous tenants was still there, along with the keys. This should have told me they didn't actually inspect the property prior to my moving in and I should have insisted they do that first, but hindsight you know. I did what I thought was a pretty thorough inspection, but missed the fact that the previous tenants had bitten the blinds, colored under the counters, and various other things. I spent a week cleaning and they still charged me for cleaning. The fact that I didn't raise a stink about the apartment not being ready is on me, the fact they didn't bother cleaning or fixing the apartment before I moved in is on them. Will never rent from them again.

When I rented the apartment I had no problems, I lived relatively peacefully for 3 years, the problem began when the 2 year contract was ending,
I had not yet signed the renewal of the contract and they placed an eviction order on me from the apartment even though there were 30 days left.
I signed the renewal of the contract for another year but this time, when there were 60 days left before the end of the contract, I announced that I was going to move.
It's been 4 months since I moved and I still haven't heard back from the deposit. and every week I call and they tell me that they are working on my case and they don't know when they will have an answer.
My last call was today, the person who answered was very rude and they told me they have no answer and hung up on me.
I recommend reviewing the contract since it is a headache
