Joanna is a godsend to any family struggling with a teen or young adult who is lost and needs help beyond what the family can provide. She has seen it all. She works closely with each family working to understand what their needs are and from her extensive background of experience and training she helps guide a wayward family safely to the shore. During a time when there can be a lot of fear and doubt, Joana provides real information, support and guidance. She helped us tremendously. I didn't understand before working with her the benefits of working with an educational consultant, figured I could find the resources myself for our son. Now I see how limiting this was. During a time of family crisis, it is imperative to find someone who can offer you choices, someone who has done the work of culling out the not so good programs or services and knows how to quickly and safely get your family the help they need. This journey cannot be done alone. We couldn't have gotten our son and ourselves the support we needed if we didn't have Joanna on our team. I am eternally grateful for Joanna.

We hired Joanna for help in researching and choosing a transitional program for our young adult son after Wilderness Therapy. We had a limited budget and did a lot of research before settling on Joanna. After our initial consultation phone call, we chose her because she understood our son's situation and our needs and philosophy. During our contract, we were impressed with her down to earth, caring and empathetic demeanor, her breadth of knowledge of resources and programs and skills at communicating with our son and the two programs he attended. She was respectful and helpful in the areas that we needed assistance. She did not offer unwanted or too much advice/resources as she took the time to know what support we required. We appreciated very much the links to resource and articles.Her communication with our son really dovetailed with our parenting philosophy and helped him feel supported and heard as well.

"Joanna worked closely with one of my students who wasn’t ready to engage in academics at the university. She helped talk to the parents and facilitated long overdue conversations that the family should have had before the student came to university. She was patient and diplomatic with a very difficult parent and helped me convey what the student’s academic options were. It was comforting to know that I had a non university support system (Joanna) that could be a resource for the student, and help student make decisions that would be best for her mental health). I reccomend Joanna to folks who could use additional support in working with their struggling student/young adult. "
