Jeffrey managed our rental property in Colorado Springs for 14 years and we could not recommend his company more. He ensured the property was always in good condition, fixed whatever needed fixing, and ensured the tenants were of high quality. He is choosy about who he accepts as tenants which made the whole experience of owning a rental easy and pleasurable. If we buy another property in CO Springs we know exactly who to use!

I have rented from NPM twice...once in 2007 (a two bedroom apt.) and again from 2012-2014 (a 3bd/1bath w/ basement). Their office is extremely Professional and courteous. Our Furnace went out during the winter and immediately they got the repair man out to fix it. The Dishwasher which I am sure was a few years old started to have issues and again the repairman was sent out within a day to fix the issue. I'm not sure about some of these reports, but maybe your own personalities are lacking because I know they have never treated myself, my children or my husband with disrespect or rudeness. Also, my deposit was completely returned to me minus some fees to fix some doors that had been damaged due to my renegade children.

Warning: Think twice before using Nester Property Management

Left a voicemail for Carol to call me about renting a property on Lees Lane in 80909.

No one returned my call in 48 hours. So I called again...person who answered said they were having an open house this Saturday, July 5th at 1pm. I showed up 1:09pm and the Realtor representing Nester PM states, "I was just leaving. Our appt. was for 1, not 1:15."

Starting off with a traditional greeting and your name would have been easier for this potential, long term renter to swallow.

Sir, I get it...but first, someone from your office stated a 1-3pm "open house", not a private viewing. And please, at least seem interested in the fact you have a potential renter looking at your property.

The listing agent didn't mention anything about pets in the ad. Each homeowner has the right to accept or refuse a pet. But that doesn't mean you have to be rude when the topic arises.

Proper disclaimer: without having actually experiencing a financial transaction with Nester Property Management, I can't speak about what it's like to rent from them, but I wouldn't discount the previous reviews about this company's dealings with their renters.

What can Nester PM do to help their reputation? I don't know, but what I do know is, their attitude stinks as does their lack of ability to seem interested in doing a good job for their potential landlords/homeowners.

If you're considering renting from or using Nester Property management as your property management company, I would first consider my other options and then, as a last resort, only do business with them if there wasn't any other option.

I chose Nester property management because they told me they could get me a better renter. With a high probability of having little to know damage to me rental. I put in my lease I don’t allow cats in my house. Dogs only. The renter was in my house for 5 and half years. At 3 years I saw a big grey cat on my back porch. I ordered an immediate inspection of my house. The renter says he has no cat and the neighbors have 13 cats. I did notice some spots in my carpet in the basement. There was no obvious odor due to the renter spraying a car scent into my house.

I was very skeptical at that point that he didn’t have a cat. He did have a dog but said it had died. There was always a dog door on the back of the house. Then I got the call from the neighbor that the renters dog was barking loud one day. His dog had not died the renter had lied. So the renter moved out there is a very strong smell of a car scent in the house. The weeds were two feet high in the backyard and I had 7 tree’s to take down. I didn’t get into the house until day 2. Then the strong ammonia smell in the back 2 rooms in the basement. CAT!

Now I am puling all the carpet out of the house. The back bedroom has cat height scratches on the door. $2000.00 to replace the carpet. Then there were the marks on the walls. The renter had mounted picture and around the frames was a grey perimeter mark. Had to paint the entire inside of the house. $2000.00

I finally opened the over not cleaned the kitchen counters hadn’t been cleaned in 5 years. The renter stole my microwave and left his falling apart microwave in my house. It went to the garbage. After the carpet was installed the closet doors went back on. I noticed something on them. It was spit 6 out of eight of my closet doors had been spit on. Very organized spit over several days as it was 6-8 spit wads across eight to 10 layers down the doors. Disgusting!

The windows had not been cleaned in 5.5 years. Then the issues with the property manager. Over the 5.5 years there were 3 emergency maintenance issues with the house. The first was $92 the pilot had to be replaced on the furnace $6.72 part. I found out because I did not get all of my rent. So I called, got Jeff hey why is my rent short. We had to fix the furnace. OK why didn’t you call me to let me know. Sorry won’t happen again. Fine it was only $92. Then the next summer my rent is missing by $325. No call? So I called got Jeff why is my rent short, “we had emergency maintenance had to clear the drains”. Why didn’t you call me. Sorry it won’t happen again. Then in January of 20016 I am short on my rent by $500 I found out because my rent deposit was once again short. I called got Jeff this time I asked for Carol she had no idea why my rent was short. Jeff called me back we had Emergency maintenance on your furnace. This was apparently a gas leak at furnace inspection. There was no smell of gas in the house and the furnace was working fine. This occurred at their annual furnace inspection. Jeff said this the third time, “that it slipped between the cracks that we didn’t call”.

I terminated there services that day. I paid Nester property Management 10% of my rent for what? The renter said they never came out or ever inspected my property they just took my money for nothing. I have spent $6000.00 to make my home rent-able again. Do not use this company beware they are not here for you, and Jeff has no customer service skills. It took 3 months to get my last $100 deposit Nester had held onto. The moral of the story they have a 2.0 rating for a reason.

We used NPM to manage a couple of properties for us for many years before we sold our last rental last year. We would give them our highest recommendation to anyone looking for a good property manager. They always found good reliable tenants for us and our homes kept their value. The last tenant had not paid his last months rent prior to us selling the house. Just the other day, we received that last month's rent check from NPM. They pursued payment from that tenant for over a year until he finally paid. That's the kind of dedication and responsiveness we relied on from NPM.

Corrupt and impersonal. After stating that we had to move out by the end of the lease they sent someone without our consent to invade our home and take pictures of the state of the house 2 months before our lease even ended. Despite the fact that we had fully planned on fixing up the place and cleaning the house before moving they insisted that we had "trashed" the house, nit picking certain aspects like thumb tack holes on the wall from posters, and having "messy" carpets. I tried to explain that I had already made plans to have them shampooed from the very same carpet cleaner that they use, but my explanations fell on deaf ears. For when Nester sees kids that they can take advantage of, they certainly act on their corrupt impulses. We have maintained this house very well, there was no damage to speak of, except for dirty carpets in the basement. Don't rent from these fools unless you really want to kiss your deposit goodbye.

Horrible experience with this company. Both Carol and Jeff nester were rude abrasive and dismissive. They gave both me and my realtor the run around trying to get a showing of a property. Once my realtor saw the home it was in shambles! I'm taking broken Windows missing Windows water damaged ceilings old stained damaged carpets! The pictures they use for properties are old and deceiving of the homes true state. Do not use them you will get scammed!

They have had an ad on Zillow for months now. When it appeared I contacted them by email and waited a few weeks before emailing again. Finally I got an email about an open house from 3-5pm. My family and I showed up and no one was there, no answer at the door. No car was even there... I called the office and had to leave a voicemail explaining I was there for an open house. I waited another week and got no return call, so I called again and spoke to a man who claims he WAS there for the open house at the advised time (as though I was an idiot and I had messed up)... he then stated he would have "someone else" get in touch with me to show the house. Two months later and I've never heard from them. I thank God for it. This place is an unprofessional nightmare. Every time I see their post on Zillow, I cringe. Someone else will unfortunately fall prey to them (if they ever contact the people who inquire about their rentals). They obviously haven't had any formal marketing or business training or they'd know to treat their current and potential clients like gold!
