Horrible!!!! They may seem like they love you at first but that goes away pretty soon. They have their favorites and will eventually forget about you and not try and get you a job because they’re too busy with their elite models. I was with them for about 3 years and only did 1 single fashion show. Nothing else. One time I came in to do digitals and niya said I needed to workout and keep my figure. Obviously the last time she saw me was like a year before and I had hit puberty and grown and changed quite a bit. So maybe she liked my younger self and wanted me to look like that. Eventually I just stopped getting emails and updates from them and got removed from their website with no reason as to why. I didn’t really care cause I disliked them anyway and wanted to stop modeling for them. But seriously if you get the opportunity to be a model for them, don’t do it. It may seem great at first but if you’re not good enough they will forget about you. They are very unfair!

I was signed with Niya for four years. She didn’t pay me for a single job I did. I’ve been trying to collect my payments for months now, only to have Niya block my cell phone and her office refuse to answer my calls. If you don’t want to be taken advantage of, STAY AWAY FROM NIYA. She is a crook and a fraud.

UPDATE: it’s now been over 6 months. Niya refuses to send me my contract, and they were unable to validate their claim that they had already paid me. They owe me thousands of dollars. I will be hiring an attorney and reporting them to the BBB as well as Utah’s workforce agency. A modeling agency being run like this deserves to be shut down.

NIYA is the best agency in Utah, hands down. I started at a competing agency in Utah and only got a single booking over a period of 6 months. Working with NIYA, I got a booking within my first week. Fast forward to now, NIYA placed me at one of the top agencies in Los Angeles. Do not trust NIYA! I've been in the industry in Utah for 15 years and this has been the worst agency BY FAR. I've never seen a more dishonest and poorly run agency.

-You enter the agency owing $180/yr for website fees. You have to work the fees off before you begin to pocket any earnings.
-Agency also takes a 20% commission on each paid booking
Business Strategy: Forward public casting emails
-The hardest work this agency ever did was click 'forward' on emails I was already getting.
-Pertinent information is intentionally withheld (time commitment, pay, location, etc) until after you commit so they make sure they're paid, no matter your needs or sacrifices.

My family's experience with NIYA has been costly and a waste of time. My first job was Nov. 2017. I ended up being a servant girl for a movie premier, standing out in the cold and taking tickets and breaking down boxes. I am a mother of 3 and made my expectations and desires very clear to S B* . At the time, my youngest was only 6months old and still breastfeeding. I took the job, thinking I'd have an opportunity to use my skills and talents, and at the very least get at $100 out of it. I worked until 11pm. I didn't see one penny, because it went to "website fees." I was upset, but was quickly talked off the ledge and Stephanie helped me "understand" how website fees worked. We decided to stay on.
The only other job I've booked was a BMW commercial, where my husband and I ended up spending 12hrs as extras on set, even traveling an extra hour on a location change. I called Stephanie to let her know, asking for her to negotiate a higher pay rate, and she passed the buck onto me! She told me to "nicely ask the Producer for more compensation."
(Isn't that my agent's job?! Isn't an agent supposed to be an advocate, a liaison?) The other actors on set were all on the phone with their agents, personally handing their phones over to the Producer to negotiate and make arrangements. Not NIYA! In fact, according to S S***, accountant for NIYA, I still owed a $21 balance after the shoot. After inquiring about the balance, they "fixed" the issue by explaining why they took nearly %50 of my earnings.
When I went to auditions, everyone's first reaction was always, "who's that?!"
Start your New Year off with a respected, well-known agency.
Stay away from NIYA. Literally any other agency is better.

NIYA Model Management is the best agency I've ever been with. She's the realist and really gets you going. Feels like a family and Niya really gets down to your level. She helps you train to get ready for the big world and then gets you out there. Even though Utah isn't the best modeling and acting area. She gets you started better than anyone can. Gets you real jobs. I've learned so much. I've gotten more experience. Great environment. I love Niya Model Management.
