Katie and her staff did an excellent job working with my son as he navigated through the extremely intense post-pandemic environment of 2022 college admissions! While my son was set on his intended choice of study, her deluxe package is a very thorough process designed for those who are unsure about what they would like to study and a confirmation for those that already know. She has a wealth of knowledge about all phases of the complicated college admissions process. Most importantly, Katie really cares about her student clients and treats them like one of her own. If you're looking for a college advisor who begins with a focus on your child and identifies schools where they will thrive, rather than an advisor who begins with the same 10 schools and molds your child to their template, then you've come to the right place! Katie will work with your son/ daughter to help them learn more about themselves: their interests, their learning styles and what challenges and excites them. From there she'll help you identify what are the best schools where they will thrive. She will challenge your students preconceived notions and they will learn things about themselves that will surprise and motivate them. If you want to mold your son/ daughter from a square peg into a round hole, then go to almost any college advisor, but if you want a part psychologist/ life coach/ college advisor to find that right fit for your child and your family then spend some time with Katie!

With a group of parents of 9th & 10th grade boys, we asked Katie to prepare and deliver a course that "awakens" our kids to what lies ahead in terms of colleges and college applications. She proposed 5 group sessions with the kids plus one personalized session with each child and his parents. I listened in to parts of a few of the sessions and know Katie from her work sessions as a College Counselor at a large, magnet high school. Katie has a great combination of subject-matter expertise, experience that is applicable to a broad range of student profiles, and high levels of positive energy delivered in a way that high school kids really like. She is a hit with teenagers - and that is no small feat. The content and style of her classes were liked by my son and as far as I know, all the other boys as well. More importantly for me, the objective of "awakening" my son to many aspects of what lies ahead in terms of college applications, processes, identifying and working at extra-curricular passions etc - was fully achieved. I am very comfortable recommending Katie as an excellent college counselor and believe she has a real talent for helping high schoolers to understand the process and motivating them search for, develop and realize their potential.
