Unbelievable cruelty from Silverwood Management!

My parents have owned a home under Silverwood Management HOA for about 10 years. My dad even served on the board of the HOA! Until recently my folks never missed paying their monthly fees. But my dad died suddenly and unexpectedly in February. He left behind a mountain of bills that my elderly mom and I have been working to fix for the past couple of months.

Instead of contacting us to work out how to manage the past due balance that we didn't even know about (because my dad who died paid all the bills), they just put a lien on the house. They didn't even send one single invoice or make a single phone call, not to mention stopping by! I mean, they know where she lives for goodness sake! But no, they went straight to the lawyer and put a lien on the house and are now trying to charge us for that. This behavior is inconsiderate and cruel to my elderly mother.

Evidently if you live in one of their properties, they will not follow traditional collection practices even under extreme circumstances. They just put a lien on your home. Absolutely ridiculous! I would NEVER EVER buy a home in their association and we'll be getting out of this one asap.
