Like many others, I have had an extremely frustrating experience with The Cookware Co.'s (Green Pan) warranty claims department. As many others have said, I had my set for only a few months before one of my pots developed a chipped area, high up on the wall, where misuse by the user is a highly unlikely possibility. Not to mention, I knew 100% that I had used only the silicone cooking utensils they included, and was very delicate in my handling of my brand new cookware set. As others have experienced, the warranty claims people denied my claim, from photos only, leaving me feeling betrayed. I submitted a BBB complaint, and got no satisfactory outcome from that either. I had given up, and vowed I would never buy a single thing from them again. Until they changed my mind out of the blue.
A few weeks ago, out of nowhere, almost a year since my BBB complaint, a representative from The Cookware Co., Elizabeth, reached out to offer me a resolution for my issue, in the way of a brand new 11pc set from their Valencia Pro series. An almost $600 set. I was surprised to say the least. I have not tried the new set, so I can't speak to it's quality, but it seems a lot nicer than my previous set. After I've cooked with it, I will come back and add to this review, and include some pictures as well.
But for now, i just wanted to say, while it would have been nice for them to just replace the pot I had an issue with when I filed my claim, I respect the fact that they did more than make it right in the end. Better late than never. I also want to add, if you are considering buying from them, that many people don't realize how well these sets from Green Pan actually conduct heat. I've found I need to set my heat a little lower than I think I need, because the pans conduct heat so well. So I believe that many of these complaints about food sticking are due to people cooking with too high heat. Because, while I have had a chipping issue with ONE pan, I've never had an issue with food sticking. And besides the poor customer support I received when trying to file my warranty claim, I was actually very happy with the performance of the cookware itself. And now that they've made me whole by resolving my complaint, I really have no reason to dislike them or warn people away from them.
I do recommend Green Pan cookware from The Cookware Co., but I suggest you do the following: Do not stack pans inside of each other. Use silicone, plastic, or wood utensils only. Start out heating much lower than you think is necessary and increase heat if needed. And remember, oil turns to "plastic" at high heat (this is known as seasoning when talking about woks) so if you do heat your pan too hot, it will develop a skin of "plastic" that will cause things to stick to it and make it smoke. This is user error, not cookware malfunction or defect. So beware when a bad review is focusing mainly on food sticking and claims of cookware being useless within 6 months of purchasing. These people misused their cookware and wanted a free set for their own mistake, at least that's my belief. If you do these things, your cookware will perform wonderfully for a long time. My original set is almost 2 years old, 21 months old precisely, and besides the ONE pot with chipping, the set still looks brand new.
In conclusion I just want to say, yes, they did give me a free set of cookware as resolution for my issue. But I was not asked to review or retract anything I've said up to receiving the replacement set. A good review was not a condition of receiving the new set. I am reviewing them now because everything I've said in this review is factual and because I wanted to review them.
