I have been living in one of their properties since 2021, and my experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. From the start, the apartment was poorly assembled—cabinetry was incomplete, light switches and outlets were misaligned or broken, and there was a significant leak in the wall due to improperly sealed windows. Unfortunately, the issue was only patched over rather than properly fixed.
On two separate occasions, I faced heating failures during cold weather, and I was given the runaround for days before receiving any resolution. I had to pay over $1,000 in lodging costs on both occasions while waiting for the heat to be restored. I was only given a $500 rent reduction after threatening to involve my attorney, which hardly compensates for the inconvenience.
The building has ongoing foreclosure issues, with frequent notices sent out, and FDNY and 311 violations are regularly posted on the first floor. It also became clear that the building was not properly registered with the city to include the 4th-floor dwelling. There were constant "inspections" being conducted, which turned out to be just tours for prospective buyers, further disrupting tenants.
Despite charging market-rate rent, the building is sorely lacking in basic amenities. There's no package area, bike storage, laundry facilities, or even routine building cleaning. The upkeep does not remotely match the price tenants are paying.
When I asked to transfer to another unit at my renewal rate—despite knowing its past maintenance issues—the management insisted on renting it at $825 more than my current rate. Eventually, I was able to transfer to a different unit (same size, different floor) at my existing rate, but it hasn't been any better. I’ve dealt with roaches, mice, mold, and now a malfunctioning refrigerator. Just recently, I returned from a trip to find that my freezer wasn't working, causing newly purchased groceries to spoil (after 2 nights of not working). When I asked about reimbursement, I was told to contact my renter's insurance, which turned out to be a dead end.
I also explored the possibility of ending my lease early and was met with an unreasonable proposal: I would be responsible for rent until a new tenant is found, plus a $2,500 fee and retention of my security deposit. This is essentially the same cost as staying in the unit for another month. To top it all off, the staff's condescending attitude only adds to the frustration. If the location weren’t so convenient and central to my needs, I would have already moved out. I strongly advise against renting from this landlord (Penny Heads) or the management company. The experience has been overwhelmingly negative, and the lack of professionalism and accountability is staggering.

One of the worst experiences with any management company and I've only been a tenant for a month. They have poor customer service, especially the manager Morris. He is very sarcastic and leaves you with no feeling that the matter would be taken care of. I had to delay my move in date because they weren't quick enough to prep my apartment. After they did, they had their contractors take the garbage that was in my apartment and place it in my front yard. According to the city of Jersey City all garbage must be put on the curb and furniture such as mattresses must be wrapped in a plastic. Besides the sealed bags, nothing was properly handled. I had called them to get this issue resolved and I was told, directly from Morris, that it would "probably" be handled. Date of that conversation was May 16th. My experience with this company is utterly disgusting.

One of the worst management companies I have ever dealt with. I have a malfunctioning key code entry for the door, meaning difficulty getting into apartment. Whether you call them during the day or on their emergency line, it doesn’t matter, there is no answer. They clearly only care about the $ and don’t give a single crap about any client needs if it doesn’t make money. Also, they don’t have a physical address in New York City. Instead, there “based” in upstate New York somewhere. When I visited their physical address in Brooklyn that is listed as their “official location”, it’s an empty building in Williamsburg. They are shady and don’t do their job well. If you are going to put “trust” in your name , you should at least be trustworthy. Smh

I've been with Trust for over 6 years now, and we've even weathered the pandemic together. I truly appreciate their support and professionalism throughout. Etty, Esty, and Rivky are always on top of ensuring everything runs smoothly. Our super does some of the best handyman work I've seen, and he's incredibly efficient and fast. And a big thanks to Ontario for taking such good care of cleaning our building. The whole team is super responsive, and I wholeheartedly recommend renting an apartment with them!

The management team Is responsive to all needs, although I’ve barely had any repairs since I moved in. I am truly enjoying being a tenant with this company.

Have lived in my apartment with Trust management for the last 3 years. We are in a small building without a constant super, but I've found they are generally quick to respond to concerns and seem interested in keeping tenants long term.
